... is a web-based file manager designed for supporting multi-user web hosting environments. Apart from typical file management and editing features it includes a permission manager that creates access files compatible with the Apache syntax.

VTFileman's built-in user management system enables it to serve large organizations. For example, at Virginia Tech this software is used to implement filebox.vt.edu a web-based service which is currently serving over 31,000 Virginia Tech students, faculty and staff with their file storage and web hosting needs. It can also be used to manage virtually hosted web sites.
